Mamma Mia

My sister in law asked me to go see Mama Mia this weekend. I'd actually heard it wasn't a very good movie, and it was going to be a late showing. I'd been at baseball all day, I was sweaty and stinky, and tired - dead tired. But I don't get the chance to go to the movies often - especially anything not animated and child themed!

I have to admit I got a little distracted at first thinking "wait a minute, I thought this was supposed to be a Broadway play? How did they do all these water scenes on a stage?" Once I got over my OCD though, I thoroughly enjoyed it! Even without any popcorn. The fact that it was originally a play was really the only thing I knew going in. It was nice change going in with a blank slate.

I would whole hearted give this movie 2 thumbs up. Its a great chic flick, I don't think my husband would have gotten all the humor. My sister in law and I laughed out loud countless times. The songs made me want to get up and dance. And trust me people - THAT is not a pretty sight! I thought Meryl Streep was beautiful and perfect for the part. Julie Waters was perfectly hilarious ( and I just read she was Mrs. Weasly on Harry Potter - I never would have guessed!) Pierce Brosnan - really, what can you say other than yummy? Well, I do have to admit he isn't the best singer - but his singing parts are minimal. Amanda Seyfried is beautiful and talented and has a wonderful voice - I hope she goes far!

Grab your girlfriends, and go see this! I think you will be glad you did!!

I'll have to try to go watch it. Thanks!

Baseball all day and hot and tired? I can totally empathize with that! We've been off for several weeks now and I can't wait to get going again!

I whole-hearted agree with everything you typed!!! Even wondering how many of the parts played out on stage. Is that OCD? Crap ;op I was not excited to go either and went because my sister had flown home and we took my mom. Def a chick flick, no man would "get it." Our theater actually broke out in song during the MamaMia song...dorks...heh
Great review! Pierce did struggle with the lipsynching didn't he? Too funny! It was one of those movies that you called within the first 4 minutes, except the Harry HeadBanger's new love interest. TOTALLY missed that one!
